New Out of Hours Arrangements by Vets-Now (www.vets-now.com)

In February 2010 Prospect House will have provided Veterinary care to the community for 25 years. This milestone will mark important changes in the practice. Throughout this time we have had a Vet and nurse on call at nights and weekends. This has often meant that our staff have worked on emergencies at night and have then needed to work the following day. The provision of this out of hours cover has become increasingly difficult with the new Working Hours Directive, stating this way of working is no longer acceptable.

We are therefore delighted to announce that the company  VETS NOW” will be providing an out of hours emergency service from February 8th in North Wales. The company provides this service to over 400 Vet surgeries across the UK . The service will be used by several practices across North Wales and will be based at Prospect House. Veterinary surgeons and nurses who specialise in small animal emergency care will be on site at night and weekends for treatment and advice.

Animals requiring hospitalisation will benefit from continual monitoring and management.

The service will run from 7.00pm every week night and 2.30pm on Saturday.

The only change to surgeries will be at weekends.

Saturday surgery will run 9-11.30am (appts available)

Saturday afternoon, Sunday and Bank holiday surgeries will no longer run.

For any advice or concerns at night or weekends continue to ring our normal number and you will be seen at Prospect House.

Pet Porter service which is run by one of our Veterinary Nurses can be contacted and may be able to help with transport.

We are also pleased to announce a new service for 2010 with a dedicated  surgeon working in Prospect House, 1-2 days a week. This will mean animals needing referral for more advanced surgery may be able to have the operation in our own surgery, backed up by all night care from VetsNow.  All these new services will greatly benefit the care of all our pets.

We endeavour to continue to improve our services at all times and would like to take this opportunity to thank all our loyal clients over the years.

                                           Kind Regards

                 The Prospect House Team
