About Us Prospect House opened in February 1985. It is situated centrally in Colwyn Bay, North Wales. From an initial staff of three it now comprises 24 people and deals solely with small animals (pets). There are three partners Nigel Dickinson MRCVS, Ann Owen (Mrs Dickinson) MRCVS and Peter Harlow MRCVS. In addition there are four other veterinary surgeons, Netti Collister MRCVS, Eluned Salisbury MRCVS, Helen Sumner MRCVS and from March 2011, Morven Maclean joined the team.
There are a total of ten nurses, Jayne Gardner, Paula Ubysz VN, Diane Osbourne VN, Miriam Candlish, Lisa Davies, Christine Foulkes, Sarah Lokier, Cath Edwards, Nicola Astbury and Kelly Dilworth. There are also nine receptionist Lisa Davies, Rina Nosworthy, Liz Poppleton, Janet Rogers, Lauren Fry, Ffion Roberts, Charlotte Dowell, Anna Jones, and Joanne Owen (JO also does our accounts). Janet works mainly in Llanfairfechan.
In Colwyn Bay, we have two general open surgeries, one in the morning and the other in the evening which clients can just call into without prior appointment. Timed appointments can be made Monday to Friday throughout the day. In Llanfairfechan, it is appointments only and these are available in the afternoon. Operations are carried out in the mornings in order that patients are able to return home later in the day. All operations are performed in Colwyn Bay. As we have chosen not to have anaesthetic equipment in Llanfairfechan, no surgery is done at this branch. The practice is continually investing in new equipment in order to provide a better service to both clients and their pets. We can now perform endoscopy, dental work, blood tests, ultrasound, blood pressure monitoring and ECGs within the practice, cutting down on time and providing quicker diagnoses.
A 24hr service is provided ensuring that clients always have someone to contact if their pet becomes ill and, if clients cannot reach the practice, home visits can be arranged.
